Job Summary
Provide video remote (VRI) and over-the-phone (OPI) language interpretation services between diverse individuals with varying accents and speaking tempos. Deliver clear, exact verbal communications without additions or omissions, capturing the speaker's thought, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone in both directions. Inform relevant parties of any factors hindering performance while complying with applicable ethics and standards of practice. This freelance, independent contractor role is on an as-needed basis for Piedmont Global, a strategic partner helping enterprises and public sector organizations navigate cross-cultural operations. Mongolian, Hmong, Karen, and Somali interpreters are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a government-issued valid form of identification
- Access to a laptop or computer
- Excellent internet connection
- Interpreting experience, paid or as a volunteer
- Two (2) relevant professional references that can vouch for the candidate's work as an interpreter OR one (1) relevant professional reference and one (1) relevant professional letter of recommendation
- Proficiency in English and another Spoken Language

- Test results from other organizations (testing centers, other LSPs, etc.)
