Job Summary
Produce 'first' proto patterns by interpreting designs and draping fabric/muslin on a form to duplicate designer sketches, considering stand fit, components, trims, and construction. Review design lines with Designers and Directors, then prepare a cutter's must containing garment pieces, trims, and construction information for sample makers. Guide cutters and sample makers on proper cut info and garment construction while prioritizing workload based on Design and calendar dates. Collaborate regularly with Designers, sample cutters, and sample makers to prepare and correct patterns based on Design/fitting comments before releasing them to Tech Design for overseas production.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Computer Patternmaking course(s)
- Minimum 3 years work experience handling various types of garments and fabrics
- Knowledge utilizing CAD Systems
