Job Summary
Freelance Event Specialist needed in Tampa, FL to manage on-site logistics for in-person events on a per-event contract basis. Responsibilities include coordinating event details, shipping materials, staffing for events, on-site setup and teardown, aligning with on-site teams, managing check-in, solving problems (missing supplies, tech challenges), escalating issues to the Events Team, and providing updates (photos/videos) during events. The role requires strong English communication, customer service focus, experience with large-scale events and executive-level engagements, flexibility to work nights/weekends, travel within the local region, and the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment. Eligible candidates must be based in Tampa and able to operate on-site for each event.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English and strong communication skills
- Based in Tampa, FL
- Schedule flexibility with availability to work on a contract per-event basis
- Experience in complex, large-scale events and smaller executive-level intimate events
- Shown experience in executing events at the highest level and continuously raising the bar on content and the customer experience
- Resourcefulness, ability to exhibit grace under pressure, and be solutions-minded in ambiguous situations
- Quick thinker with ability to problem-solve on the fly
- Self-starter who is organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to build relationships with customers and enjoy customer service
- Experience with group facilitation and managing group dynamics
- Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed
- Willing and eager to travel to various areas of the local region
- Comfort interacting with large crowds
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
- This is an on location, in person, per event contract role in Tampa, FL; no relocation packages offered at this time
