Job Summary
Coordinate daily business and political news coverage by monitoring traditional and social media for breaking stories, identifying relevant video and audio assets, and booking crews for reporters and guests. Draft and distribute planning information to field and network personnel while tracking DC news events with a focus on guiding employees to flag key developments. Reach out to agencies and government departments to gather and confirm information, working directly with show producers and the FOX News Assignment Desk to accommodate reporter requests. This role supports the Washington, DC Bureau and the FBN Assignment Desk in NYC, requiring flexibility for late shifts, early mornings, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
- Strong editorial judgment
- Interest in business news
- Familiarity with various DC government agencies
- Ability to identify where to get the latest financial data & editorial information
- Knowledge of and experience covering national breaking news stories
- Coordination of field teams
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Multitask
- Prioritize daily, especially in breaking news situations
- Willingness to work late shifts, early mornings, and weekends, as needed
