Job Summary
Support daily buying operations by developing partnerships with the buyer to create timely product assortments for retail and direct businesses that meet sales and profit objectives. Own a specific product class, conceptually plan assortments, and delegate tasks to assistants while prioritizing immediate and long-term business needs. Research market developments, work with planning on financial indicators, and determine the mix of market and private label products to ensure a customer-oriented final selection. Execute product development, place buys with conviction, and manage merchandise flow by entering, tracking, and organizing purchase orders to ensure timely delivery. Communicate late deliveries, set up new vendors with routing guides, and react with urgency to requests from merchants and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in retail buying or a similar capacity
- Ability to build and maintain productive partnerships
- demonstrate strong listening, oral, and written communication skills
