Job Summary
Detail-oriented Fraud Strategy Analyst II with a strong debit card fraud background will develop robust rules and strategies to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud. You will analyze transaction data, identify emerging patterns, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize losses. The role involves data preparation, modeling, and visualization, including predictive analysis, pattern recognition and machine learning, using tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, PowerBI, and Tableau. You will apply knowledge of Financial Crimes, regulatory considerations (e.g., Reg E, Reg Z, FACTA), and risk controls while communicating insights to stakeholders and mentoring peers. The position emphasizes applying business rules to technology solutions, supporting risk management and compliance policies, and contributing to analytical studies that drive fraud mitigation strategies. Occasional business travel is required, with remote eligibility for the continental U.S. and on-site four days per week for those within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
- 2 years of experience in financial crimes supporting and participating in stakeholder consultation, needs assessment, requirement translation and prescription of technology solutions
- 2+ years in card fraud analytics area in financial industry
- 2+ years of experience in coding fraud rules in one of the main rule management systems (Falcon, VRM, Broadcom, SAS Raptor)
