Fraud Prevention Specialist

Job Summary

Review and investigate discrepancies on credit applications, retail installment contracts, and paystubs to detect fraud risks. Conduct thorough investigations into potentially fraudulent activities, including identity verification and document validation, while completing customer phone interviews to clear credit bureau alerts. Maintain accurate records in loan and lease originations systems and escalate suspected cases to management. Collaborate with underwriting and operations teams to validate data discrepancies and participate in fraud training sessions to gain working knowledge of systems and compliance requirements. Maintain confidentiality of consumer personal information. This entry-level role requires a minimum of one year in auto finance and experience with fraud detection software. Schedule includes M–F shifts (11 AM–8 PM), every-other-Saturday coverage, rotational Sunday shifts, and some holiday coverage, with overtime required during the last two to three business days of each month. Travel is required 10% of the time.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in the auto finance industry
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with identity verification and fraud detection software such as Point Predictive, TLO and LexisNexis
  • Basic understanding of auto finance operations such as underwriting, funding, and collections
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to follow procedures and work as part of a team
  • Overtime required on an as needed basis
  • Travel 0-10% as required on an as needed basis
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Houston, Tx
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Close vision
  • Ability to work various shifts to accommodate business needs
  • M-F: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Every other Saturday required
  • Rotational shifts (11:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM)
  • Some holiday coverage required
  • Overtime required during the last 2-3 business days of each month
  • Travel is required 10% of the time
  • An applicant must be authorized to work in the United States to be eligible for this position
