Job Summary
Fraud Intelligence Lead responsible for proactive fraud identification and mitigation across Airbnb’s platform. Translate complex fraud signals into platform-level controls, rules, and policies; connect trend-level insights to systemic risk. Analyze fraud signals using SQL and Python, build dashboards in Tableau, and communicate findings through executive reports. Collaborate across data science, product, trust & safety, legal, and policy teams, and external vendors to design new countermeasures. Lead strategic initiatives to automate detection, mentor team members, and influence cross-functional outcomes. Remote-eligible in the United States with potential office or offsite attendance as agreed with management.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in fraud intelligence, risk analytics, or related fields (e.g., financial crime, marketplace fraud, platform abuse)
- Advanced proficiency with SQL and Python for analysis
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations in Tableau
- Deep understanding of Account Takeover (ATO), scams, behavioral analysis, and the development of risk controls
- Proven ability to produce clear, structured investigative writing and present findings to senior leadership (Directors and above)
- Working knowledge of cyber risk frameworks, digital forensics, and platform security; certifications such as CISSP, CHFI, CEH, GIAC, CFE, or Security+ are preferred
- Track record of driving cross-functional initiatives and influencing outcomes without formal authority
- Experience collaborating with international and cross-functional partners to drive policy, process, and technology improvements
- Willingness to travel occasionally to meet role requirements
