Job Summary
Develop high-level financial strategy and advisory support to guide proactive business decisions for a contingency-based law firm. Build budgeting and forecasting processes that reflect variable monthly revenue, while creating digestible executive reports to translate clean financial data into actionable insights. Analyze profitability, identify operational inefficiencies, and assist leadership in scenario planning around major case outcomes and tax considerations. Coordinate with external CPA firms for tax strategy and develop dashboards and KPIs to enhance visibility into firm performance. Review existing tools and reporting frameworks to recommend practical improvements. This fractional engagement requires approximately 10–15 hours monthly and offers direct partnership with firm leadership to shape financial direction.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Fractional CFO or senior finance leader advising business owners
- Experience with plaintiff-side contingency-fee law firms or professional services businesses with variable revenue
- Strong background in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow modeling, profitability analysis, and executive reporting
- Ability to explain financial information clearly, translate data into recommendations, and help leadership make proactive decisions
- Able to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and trustworthiness
- Comfortable working with clean financial data and turning it into practical business insight
- Experience with Excel and financial reporting tools
- Must be comfortable with a true fractional engagement of approximately 10–15 hours per month
- Must be able to work fully remote
