Job Summary
Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract, engage, and retain qualified foster and adoptive parent applicants. Establish collaborative relationships with community organizations, faith-based institutions, schools, healthcare providers, and media outlets to enhance recruitment efforts. Oversee screening, assessment, and investigation of prospective families while supervising comprehensive home studies and managing certification, opening, and recertification processes. Coordinate delivery of pre-service and ongoing training for parents, ensuring accurate tracking and compliance. Provide regular supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to Certification Coaches, Recruitment Specialists, and Recruiters. Monitor departmental performance, ensure compliance with agency policies and OCFS/ACS regulations, and implement quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to improve placement stability and increase foster home capacity.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of three years of post-graduate experience in the field of child welfare
- One year of experience in foster care and adoption
- Organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Skill in identifying and building a network of multi-level community relationships
- Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel in and around the metropolitan New York City region
