On-siteRichardson, Texas, United States
Job Summary
Design and implement FPGA firmware in VHDL for real-time signal processing and control within advanced RF transmitter systems. Build and run simulation/verification workflows to support timing closure, then debug and validate prototypes in the lab using standard RF and digital test equipment. Collaborate with software and hardware teams on FPGA-host and board-level interfaces while maintaining workflows via Git. This role requires a BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 5+ years of FPGA/firmware development experience, including proficiency with the Xilinx toolchain and synthesis. Candidates must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and may occasionally travel. Pay ranges from $131,000 to $150,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of FPGA/firmware development experience
- Proficiency with Xilinx toolchain (Vivado; Questa or equivalent simulation tools)
- Strong VHDL and digital design fundamentals
- Experience with synthesis, implementation, timing closure, and lab debug
- Experience with Git-based workflows
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance issued by the U.S. Government throughout the course of their employment
Desired Qualifications
- RF DSP implementation experience (for example: filtering, NCO, FFT, waveform generation)
- Experience with ADC/DAC integration and high-speed interfaces (for example PCIe, DDR3/DDR4)
- MATLAB/Simulink for model-based development
- Linux-based test/debug tools using Python and/or C/C++
