Job Summary

FPGA Engineer to develop FPGA-based electronics for The Exploration Company's space capsule. Responsibilities include writing VHDL/Verilog to validate FPGA functions, providing inputs for FPGA/microcontroller digital circuit boards, designing and validating digital interfaces (CAN, RS422 UART, I2C, SPI, Spacewire), and writing initial test software in Python to validate interfaces and hardware. Ensure radiation tolerance and failure tolerance, collaborate with Systems Engineers on capabilities, and perform full test cycles from prototypes to flight hardware. Familiarity with ECSS/NASA/MIL-STD standards is a plus. Relocation assistance including visa sponsorship is provided.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Embedded Systems or similar (can be substituted with several years of relevant work experience)
  • Relevant work experience in FPGA / SoC design and / or verification
  • Experience using Microchip Libero or Xilinx Vivado
  • Solid VHDL / Verilog knowledge
  • Embedded software knowledge (MCUs, soft-cores)
  • Knowledge of radiation effects and radiation-related failure mechanisms in electronic circuits is a plus
  • Knowledge of ECSS / NASA-HBK / NASA -CBCS / MIL-STD for programming, Interfaces, etc. is a plus
