Job Summary
Develop and test sophisticated FPGA designs for Chemical, Biological, Radiation, Nuclear, and Space sensor systems for federal government customers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design DSP applications for System on a Chip implementations using Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ and RFSoC technologies. Execute FPGA test plans, determine root cause of failures, and iterate with senior staff to improve performance. Synthesize, place, and route high-speed FPGAs while analyzing designs that interface with common signaling standards and protocols like PCIe and 10GBE Ethernet. Analyze, design, and implement HDL test benches in VHDL and Verilog for code validation, and perform data analysis to write technical reports. Maintain design documents, functional requirements, and interface control documents while supporting electrical engineering activities including CAD and lab testing. US citizenship is required with a Top Secret security clearance; pay ranges from $87,100 to $157,450.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- BS and 5+ years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer or computer engineer in an R&D environment
- Masters with 3+ year of relevant experience
- <20% travel to customer sites as required
- Experience or coursework related to testing FPGA or CPLD designs in an electronics lab
- Fluent in Vivado, Modelsim or Riviera
- Fluent in testbenches and self-checking verification methods
- Working knowledge of electronics test equipment like function generators, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and lab power supplies

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with space-qualified designs for LEO, MEO, and GEO
- Experience working with organizations such as SDA, RCO, or DARPA
- Masters' degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering with emphasis on digital/ASIC/FPGA design
- Breadth of experience in a complementary discipline
- Ability to develop image processing algorithms in Matlab and implement them in HDL, FPGA design, or embedded software
- Experience with Microchip Polarfire and Libero tools
- Experience reviewing and documenting technical data packages for military products
- Demonstrated mid-level lead position in a large FPGA project
- An active security clearance
