Job Summary

Design and develop FPGA, PLD, and ASIC complex digital electronic hardware solutions for aerospace engine control systems, including actuator, motor, and sensor interface applications. Create block diagrams, design concepts, and circuit topologies while performing preliminary and detailed design analyses, modeling, and simulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish realistic estimates, prepare engineering plans, and support internal and customer audits. Conduct laboratory testing using standard equipment and ensure compliance with RTCA DO-254 standards and design assurance activities. Support product transition from development to production and participate in design-to-cost and design-to-weight initiatives. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required with minimum 3 years of relevant FPGA or PLD design experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant FPGA or PLD design experience
  • Aerospace electronics or engine control experience
  • Experience designing digital circuits with analog interfaces
  • Experience with ASICs, FPGAs, PLDs, or other complex electronic hardware
  • Knowledge of RTCA DO-254 standards
  • Experience supporting aerospace certification or design-assurance activities
  • Strong knowledge of FPGA, PLD, ASIC, and digital circuit design principles
  • Experience with Actel, Xilinx, Altera, or similar programmable logic platforms
  • Experience using hardware description, design, and simulation tools
  • Knowledge of analog and digital interface design
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as LTspice, Simulink, HyperLynx, or similar applications
  • Experience with CAD tools such as PADS, DxDesigner, HyperLynx, or similar software
  • Familiarity with analysis tools such as MATLAB, Mathcad, Excel, or Minitab
  • Experience using requirements and configuration management tools such as DOORS, Omnify, or similar systems
  • Ability to develop engineering requirements, plans, procedures, reports, and technical presentations
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic hardware using standard laboratory equipment
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary aerospace engineering environment
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Candidates must meet all applicable regulatory and company requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Aerospace electronics or engine control experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of RTCA DO-254 standards preferred
  • Experience supporting aerospace certification or design-assurance activities preferred
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, Visual Basic, or embedded microcode is considered an asset
