Job Summary
Provide hands-on personal care including baths, oral hygiene, toileting, and skin care while maintaining patient safety and clean living areas. Assist with ambulation, dressing, and nutritious meal preparation as ordered. Monitor vital signs, document observations precisely, and report significant changes to the assigned nurse. Perform range of motion exercises and simple procedures under RN supervision. Work flexible PRN hours, including some weekends, while adhering to all documentation and care standards. Maintain current CPR certification and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Certified as a Nurse Aide I (Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA)
- Registered with the North Carolina Department of Facility Services Nurse Aide Registry
- Meets the training requirements and successfully completes a training and competency evaluation program that meets §484.80 (b) and (c)
- Meets the training requirements and successfully completes a competency evaluation that meets the requirements of §484.80 (c)
- Meets the training requirements and successfully completes a nurse aide training and competency evaluation approved by the state as meeting the requirements of §483.151 through §483.154 and is currently in good standing on the state nurse aide registry
- Meets the requirements of a state licensure program that meets the provisions of §484.80
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
- Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired
- Possess and maintains current CPR certification
- Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to Multi Task with adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to stand, climb steps and walk for lengths of time
- Ability to schedule tasks using good time management skills
- Ability to work some weekends as needed
- Meet the Physical parts of the 'Extra Hand' position that require flexible shifts sitting, walking, standing, pushing residents in wheelchairs, and lifting
