Job Summary
Operate DISA equipment, furnaces, and sand systems to produce quality cast iron parts for fireplaces, stoves, and hearth products. Read math functions to determine mold specifications and follow written and pictorial standard work instructions. Perform quality and safety checks while mastering melt and mold process rotations. Utilize material handling equipment including Bobcats, forklifts, yard trucks, sweepers, and overhead cranes to move molten metal and heavy components weighing up to 10 tons. Work Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm within a team-driven Lean Manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- ability to read and perform basic math functions to determine mold specifications, production counts, work-in-process, and product specifications
- ability to follow written and pictorial standard work instructions
- ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others
- ability to complete quality and safety checks
- ability to operate a variety of material handling equipment such as Bobcat, Forklift, Yard Truck, Sweeper
- ability to operate a variety of overhead cranes and hoists to move material such as molten metal, slag and refractory containers, furnace components and other equipment weighing from 2 to 10 tons
- Monday - Friday 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
