Foundry Supervisor

Job Summary

Oversee daily production operations within the foundry, supervising workers involved in melting, pouring, molding, and finishing metal castings. Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high-quality standards, minimizing waste, and monitoring equipment performance to coordinate maintenance and repairs. Implement and enforce safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company policies, while maintaining accurate production records and documentation. Train and mentor employees on proper techniques, safety protocols, and process improvements, and troubleshoot production issues to implement corrective actions. Manage raw material inventory and collaborate with quality control teams to address defects and promote a clean, organized work environment adhering to 5S principles. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of foundry experience
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and physically demanding environments
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting foundry machinery and equipment
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and physically demanding environments
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical degree or certification in foundry operations, metallurgy, or related field
