Job Summary
Founding Product Engineer to lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for an enterprise-grade energy procurement platform. Own design-to-deployment, translate customer needs into clear requirements, and build scalable backend services and intuitive frontend interfaces. Responsibilities include developing time-series forecasting models for power consumption and renewables, crafting linear optimisation algorithms to reduce customer energy costs, shaping the core tech stack (PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, Python), and partnering with customers and founders to deliver high-impact features in a startup environment. Must blend strong software fundamentals with a product-minded approach, and be comfortable working across backend and frontend domains with a willingness to work on-site in Munich most of the week (occasional remote work allowed).
Required Qualifications
- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- experience building robust, maintainable, scalable web applications
- product mindset with ability to deliver full product features independently with customers
- hands-on experience or strong interest in time-series forecasting and/or linear optimisation
- comfortable working across backend and frontend domains; familiarity with PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, and Python
- FastAPI or Supabase experience welcome but not required
- early-stage startup experience preferred; generalist engineer or former CTO background is a plus
- curiosity for energy markets and complex, data-intensive business applications
- willingness to work on-site in Munich the majority of the week (flexibility for occasional remote work)
