Job Summary
The Founding Engineer at Tower Research Ventures will lead foundational engineering efforts, focusing on designing, building, and launching core products. This role requires a strong technical background, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering, preferably with backend or ML/AI specialization. Key responsibilities include establishing a technical roadmap, evaluating product features for feasibility, mentoring team members, and building out the engineering organization. Required skills include expertise in Python, machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), and experience with Git and MLOps. The position demands strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong technical background of 6+ years of full-time engineering experience, with a preference for backend or ML/AI specialization
- Preference for practical AI knowledge through previous on-the-job experience, as opposed to purely academic or research-based knowledge
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and MLOps for automating model deployments
- Strong knowledge of Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Proficiency in Linux, SQL, Git and Bash scripting
- General understanding of end-to-end ML processes
- Expertise in at least one area of applied AI, such as: Computer Vision, Language Modeling, Reinforcement Learning, Generative Modeling
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills
