Job Summary
Founding Engineer to architect and build the core trading infrastructure powering valuation, order placement, and execution across secondary markets. You will own the platform from first principles, including architecture, core services, and production performance, while collaborating directly with the founder to translate strategy into real systems that deploy capital daily. Starting at Staff/Principal IC with a clear path into engineering leadership as the company scales, you will design and build the core systems for valuation, pricing, and real-time data processing, and establish monitoring and safeguards for data integrity and edge cases. Proficient backend and infrastructure skills (Python/Go, PostgreSQL, cloud), data pipelines, and the ability to communicate system behavior to non-technical stakeholders are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience building production systems in high-stakes environments
- Strong backend and infrastructure expertise
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP)
- Proficiency in Python or Go preferred
- Deep experience building data pipelines
- Strong system design skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership
- Ability to communicate system behavior and tradeoffs
