Job Summary
Own the agent infrastructure and full stack, including front end, back end, and data layer, while making architecture calls on database design, scalability, and uptime from first principles. Transform AI-assisted coding into a team-wide practice by establishing prompt libraries, skill templates, and review standards. Serve as the technical voice of reason by talking directly to users and evaluating which ideas to ship. Set engineering culture from the ground up, defining the hiring bar, processes, and norms that will scale to 50+ engineers. This founding role shapes the engineering organization for a seed-stage AI agent marketplace startup with a six-figure user base, operating on-site in San Francisco.
Required Qualifications
- You've built something 0→1 before — not just maintained or scaled an existing system.
- Hands-on full-stack proficiency across the stack: React or Vue, Go or Node.js or Python, MySQL, Redis.
- Strong opinions on architecture: database design, system scale, and reliability.
- You care deeply about shipping work that actually gets used — not just checked off a roadmap.
- On-site in San Francisco, CA — remote work is not available for this role.
