Job Summary
Design and iterate end-to-end electrical and PCB board layouts for a consumer emotional intelligence wearable, driving the device from prototype through mass production. Balance rapid hardware revisions against quality while collaborating on sensor selection, form-factor constraints, and product requirements. Establish electrical engineering processes and standards as the team scales. This founding-level role offers a path to lead the hardware engineering org at a Y Combinator-backed startup with prototypes already on users' wrists.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in board/PCB design
- Demonstrated track record of shipping physical consumer electronics products (end-to-end, prototype to production)
- Proficiency with embedded hardware, sensors, and consumer electronics constraints (size, power, cost)
- Comfortable working at a fast pace in a small, high-accountability team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with wearable or body-worn devices
- Background in biometric or audio sensor integration
- Experience scaling hardware from DFM through to contract manufacturing
