Job Summary
Executive HR leader responsible for designing and leading systems that support employees and students, with a focus on equitable, anti-racist, people-centered structures while ensuring compliance and excellence across the employee lifecycle. Oversees employee relations, policy governance (Employee Handbook), professional development, unemployment claims, and talent performance/integrity systems; collaborates to build scalable, data-driven processes within HRIS and Monday.com, drive culture, accountability, and DEIB across KIPP NC; requires living in NC with statewide travel and occasional in-person meetings. Provides strategic leadership to managers on performance management, investigations, and discipline; leads development of a risk-aware, compliant, high-performing organization; reports to the Managing Director, Talent & People Operations; 5–8+ years HR experience preferred and Bachelor’s degree required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required
- 5–8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations and performance management
- Completed training and experience in conflict resolution, mediation, and employee disputes
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Adept at analyzing data, intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
- Must live in North Carolina and be willing to travel around the state; advantageous to live in Durham, Chapel Hill, or Raleigh
