Founding Devops/FinOps Engineer

Job Summary
Build autonomous AI agents that manage billions in cloud infrastructure by encoding FinOps patterns, judgment, and rules into multi-agent systems. Own customer outcomes by conducting live sessions with Platform and Cloud teams to identify savings and prove results in production. Push the autonomy frontier by designing guardrails and policies that safely allow agents to fix infrastructure issues independently. Shift cost left by building engines that detect expensive Terraform, Bicep, and CloudFormation decisions during PR reviews rather than post-hoc invoicing. Feed the system by converting every customer engagement into optimization patterns that automatically benefit future clients.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years hands-on in cloud cost optimization
- Experience personally cutting six or seven figures of cloud spend
- Ability to live in the console and the IaC repo
- Knowledge of which workloads should never run on-demand
- Ability to write code to automate work
- Proficiency in Python or Bash
- Knowledge of Terraform
- Ability to communicate like an engineer to engineers
- Ability to run a working session with a Head of Platform
- Ability to find savings in a customer's console live
- Ability to write a runbook by EOD
- Ability to move fast and ship
- Bias for action
- Ability to fix what you find
- Daily use of AI tools
- Experience with Claude
- Experience with Cursor
- Experience with agents
