Job Summary
Founding Applied AI Lead to design and own Paxos Health AI workflows, including prompt chains, structured-output schemas, evals, and test cases for customer implementations. Translate reimbursement complexity into reliable AI workflow logic, turning payer rules and clinical/documentation requirements into clear AI system behavior. Own AI quality and reliability, analyze failures, and document system behavior with workflow specs and implementation notes. Work directly with customers during implementation (mostly in a hands-on, non-management role) and collaborate with the team to expand Paxos capabilities. This role is in-person/hybrid (minimum 3 days in the office) and based near New York City or Toronto, with potential relocation. It emphasizes 75% AI workflow ownership and 25% customer-facing work, non-pure software engineering, and no requirement for people management at the outset. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of work experience in technical implementation, AI operations, software engineering, or related work
- Experience with AI workflows, prompt chains, or structured-output schemas
- Strong English written and verbal communication
- Extreme detail-orientation; ability to identify edge cases and missing requirements
- Customer-facing experience with enterprise customers
- High ownership and ability to operate in a fast-moving startup environment
- Willingness to be based near Toronto or New York City, or relocate
