Job Summary
Founding AI Engineer working on agent harnesses for construction documents, building a compounding project-memory moat, and context compression for multi-year construction programs. Key responsibilities include engineering multi-agent pipelines that route 400-page tender documents and protocol archives with the right context, developing a decision-graph memory that grows with every project, and solving long-horizon information retention challenges. Stack focus includes TypeScript, Next.js, Vercel, Supabase (Postgres + pgvector), LangChain, Vercel AI SDK, LangFuse, and shadcn/ui; tooling budget available for Claude Code and frontier models. You'll work closely with founders in a hybrid Munich office, shaping the company and product with high autonomy and impact, and you may evolve toward leadership roles. The role requires product sense, velocity with reliability, comfort with unknown problems, and strong open-source or prior startup experience as bonuses. The language of work is English, with German being a nice-to-have for customer conversations.
Required Qualifications
- Product sense: you reason from user pain → solution → measurable outcome
- Velocity + craft: prototype fast, measure everything, iterate on real feedback while ensuring reliability
- Comfort with the unknown: you read papers, prototype, and compare approaches
- Bonus: strong open-source work, previous early-employee startup experience, domain depth in document understanding or agent systems, or shipped systems that replaced hours of human labor
- Language: English required; German nice-to-have but not required
