Job Summary
Teach Foundations of Writing and Communication (WRTG 111) on-site at College Park, MD, guiding students through active collaboration and project-based learning demonstrations. Provide rich, regular constructive feedback utilizing rubrics to assess student work on reading, writing, and speaking skills across multimodal formats. Engage learners with frequent interaction to motivate success while connecting concepts across the academic program. Offer feedback to the program chair on curricular improvements and demonstrate current subject-matter expertise, including ethical AI use and rhetorical choices. Complete the required two-week online new faculty orientation, FacDev 411, as a condition of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in English or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Professional experience in English or related field
- Must be able to teach on-site at College Park, MD
- Required to successfully complete online two-week new faculty orientation, FacDev 411, as a condition of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred
- Terminal degree in English or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Cover letter highly preferred
