Job Summary

Conduct continuous prospect research to build a qualified nonpublic grant pipeline using GuideStar, Candid, and other databases, then develop and submit high-quality grant requests including letters of inquiry, concept papers, and detailed budget narratives. Manage the complete grant lifecycle by maintaining records of agreements, monitoring fund usage, and executing stewardship plans for private, corporate, and community foundation partners. Pursue new funding opportunities aligned with Center and Foundation Annual Fund priorities to secure at least $750,000 in new grant commitments within the first year. Work under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Development and Government Relations to prioritize requests and ensure all submissions meet funder requirements and organizational commitments.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of successful experience in grant development, institutional fundraising, foundation relations, or a closely related field
  • Five years preferred
  • Demonstrated success securing significant grants from private, corporate, or community foundations
  • Experience managing the complete grant lifecycle, including prospect research, proposal development, budgeting, submission, reporting, renewal, and funder stewardship
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally outside the area for meetings, site visits, training, or funder-related activities
  • In person daily attendance
  • Must possess exceptional writing, research, analytical, and financial skills
  • A thorough understanding of private, corporate, and community foundation practices and grant terminology
  • The ability to develop, interpret, and manage complex grant and program budgets
  • Hearing of normal and soft tones
  • Close eye work and extensive computer use
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs

  • TB Screening and/or testing

Desired Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, marketing, economics, nonprofit management, or a related field
  • Equivalent education and demonstrated professional success in institutional fundraising
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and foundation research or grant-management databases
  • Bilingual applicants
