Job Summary
Foster Care Case Manager in Illinois (Full-Time). Collaborate with DCFS, youth, birth families, foster parents, and other supports to facilitate permanency for youth in care. Provide case management services, monitor placements for safety and permanency, maintain accurate documentation of contacts and records, coordinate linkage to community resources, establish therapeutic alliances with families and service providers, and participate in required meetings with DCFS. May attend court hearings as needed; schedule may include evenings and weekends and extended hours to complete paperwork or meet deadlines. Requires a Bachelor's Degree (Social Work or related fields preferred) and a Child Welfare Employee License; access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Human Services (Related fields will be considered)
- Experience: Minimum less than 4 years (for positions that manage staff, progressive management years; for all positions, can be interchanged with advanced degree related to this job)
- Licenses/Certifications Required: Child Welfare Employee License
- Trauma-informed: ability to adopt trauma-informed interventions and care practices
- Access to reliable transportation and automobile; valid driver’s license; auto liability insurance
