Job Summary
Forward Deployed Security Architect at TENEX leads the design of security architectures and delivers high-stakes advisory engagements across cloud, AI, network, endpoint, and identity domains. The role serves as the senior technical escalation point for the SE&A team, mentors Security Solution Engineers, and partners with Field CISOs on executive-level customer relationships and security planning. Responsibilities include designing and validating security architectures, guiding tool selection and integration (e.g., Wiz, Defender for Cloud, WitnessAI, ModelArmor, Purview, ExtraHop, Defender for Endpoint, Thinkst Canary, Defender for Identity), leading security roadmaps and BC/DR reviews, and supporting pre-sales technical conversations. Requires strong client-facing communication, collaboration, mentoring capabilities, and a track record of delivering complex advisory engagements. Education and certifications are preferred (Bachelor’s degree and CISSP/CISM/GIAC or equivalents are valued). Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in information security with significant advisory or architecture experience
- Demonstrated expertise designing security architectures across one or more domains (cloud, AI, network, endpoint, identity)
- Experience leading executive-level advisory engagements including board briefings and security roadmap development
- Strong familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001, CMMC)
- Track record of partnering with sales teams on solution design and pre-sales technical conversations
- Proven mentorship and team leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC certifications are a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
