Job Summary
Salesforce is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers (Technical Builders) to design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments. You’ll work with a Deployment Strategist to co-build production-grade solutions that span configuration, customization, and full-stack deployment, delivering real customer impact. Your responsibilities include building AI agents and data pipelines (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms), owning components end-to-end, developing dashboards and KPI reporting, and contributing to proofs-of-concept and MVPs. Expect to travel ~25% and to engage in customer-facing delivery, with bilingual communication in German and English. The role requires hands-on proficiency with AI tools and models, prompt engineering, API integration, and the ability to articulate technical decisions to sales teams and customer architects. A CS-related degree, production-system experience, and comfort working in an evolving AI and data landscape are needed, along with familiarity with languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex and a willingness to expand toolchains as required.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production system you'd be proud to walk us through
- degree in Computer Science or a related field
- prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering)
- fluency in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex
- hands-on with LLMs and prompt engineering
- ability to explain why a prompt failed and what you'd change
- strong understanding of data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns
