Forward Deployed Engineer

Job Summary
Embed with partner health systems to deploy Signal 1's AIMS platform end to end, connecting to secure data systems and learning how their AI models and clinical workflows operate. Build bespoke monitors and agentic solutions that automate real clinical and operational workflows, coordinating across stakeholders to onboard applications and drive alignment. Translate recurring patterns from the field into reusable building blocks, feeding insights back to improve the platform for every deployment. Work autonomously with Data, Governance, ML, and Engineering teams to ensure reliability and correctness where AI safety directly impacts patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience delivering complex AI systems in production or customer-facing settings
- Strong grounding in AI/ML, with the ability to design and implement robust solutions and reason rigorously about model behavior and evaluation in production
- Hands-on experience building LLM-based systems
- Solid backend development skills, with strong programming experience in Python, Java, or similar
- Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working independently in fast-paced environments
- Highly client-facing, with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build and grow strong client relationships — including with non-technical stakeholders across business and hospital teams
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience with healthcare data and regulated environments (HIPAA, PHI, on-prem or air-gapped deployments)
- Background in clinical informatics or health-tech
