Job Summary
Founding Forward Deployed Engineer role focusing on discovery with customers, translating requirements into tightly scoped deployments, and delivering POC-based solutions that integrate formal verification into complex engineering stacks. You will lead early customer conversations, diagnose systems for verification fit, design initial customer solutions, translate observations into deployable work, identify recurring capability gaps to steer research direction, elicit precise specifications, and stay hands-on end-to-end. The role emphasizes close collaboration with partners, architects, and senior engineers, with emphasis on correctness, verification tooling, and practical deployment in high-accountability environments. Location options include San Francisco, US or London, UK, with travel to customer sites and teams, and visa sponsorship available in both geographies.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-accountability engineering culture
- Familiarity with Rust/JVM/Go
- Domain expertise in formal methods or verification
- Experience with specification-aware programming (Verus, Dafny, Viper)
- Proof assistants and verification tools (TLA+, Lean, Roq, Isabelle)
- Ability to build relationships with senior engineers/CTOs
- Interest in commercial side of work
- Comfort with early-stage, high-ambiguity, iterative work
