Forward Deployed Data Integration Engineer

Job Summary
Partner with business analysts to understand customer data requirements and extraction cadence, then identify data sources across diverse system landscapes to define appropriate extraction techniques. Build, operate, and support production-grade data pipelines for AI workflows, developing extractors that populate the Aptean semantic layer including ontology nodes and relationships. Troubleshoot data extraction, transformation, and integration issues to improve reliability while communicating designs, constraints, and status clearly to customers and internal stakeholders. Requires 4–10 years of experience integrating enterprise systems, strong Python scripting and SQL proficiency, and familiarity with APIs and systems of record.
Required Qualifications
- 4–10 years of experience integrating enterprise systems and extracting data
- Strong proficiency in Python scripting and automation
- Ability to write efficient SQL queries for data analysis and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with APIs, enterprise integrations, and systems of record such as ERP and CRM
- Familiarity with AI-related integration patterns such as Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- You communicate integration designs, constraints, and status clearly to customers and internal stakeholders
- You can work across diverse systems and quickly understand customer system landscapes
- You have strong written and spoken English communication skills suited to client-facing work
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of business processes such as order to cash and procure to pay
- Experience accessing and updating customer systems using API calls and SQL queries
- Experience with development environments and enterprise integration tools
