Job Summary
Formulation Chemist needed to develop hop oil products for brewery and non-brewery applications. Responsible for formulation of hop products, operating and supervising equipment (wipe film evaporator, rotovap, distillation), packaging pilot products, writing and updating SOPs, and coordinating with multiple teams to meet production and customer demands. Will analyze samples using UV, HPLC, GCMS, and other analytical tools; manage data, documentation, and reports; train staff and support continuous improvement initiatives; collaborate with operations, R&D, brewing innovations and external processors; travel between Yakima facilities and support quality and safety programs.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to travel between YCH facilities
- Must be able to work long hours whether at a desk or in the field
- Must be able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods and access stairs/ladders
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, carry up to 44 lbs
- Must wear appropriate PPE in required areas for extended periods
- Must adhere to safety policies and environmental regulations
- Must be proficient in ERP systems for data entry and reporting
- Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with stakeholders
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must understand SOPs and QA/QC requirements
- Familiarity with lab analyses (UV, HPLC, GCMS) and sensory program
- Must have a complete understanding of company policies, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP
