Job Summary
Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight lines to facilitate alinement and adjustment of machinery. Bolts, nails, alines, and blocks up under forms; levels earth to fine grade specifications using pick and shovel. Mix concrete with a portable mixer, smooth and finish freshly poured cement using float, trowel, or screed. Position, join, aline, and seal pipe sections; erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces. Perform tasks involving dextrous use of hands and tools, such as sawing lumber, dismantling forms, and removing projects from concrete. Requires high school diploma, GED, or equivalent; appropriate training and experience in heavy civil construction. Granite Construction is a member of the S&P 400 Index and specializes in complex infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, dams, rail, and power.
