Job Summary
Diagnose and repair material handling equipment on customer premises, with the aim of keeping customers’ equipment running and minimizing downtime. Responsibilities include completing all service jobs assigned, communicating with the Road Lead Technician and dispatcher for technical assistance and status, attending service training to stay current on products, submitting daily paperwork (time cards and customer-signed maintenance reports), identifying jobs that should be sent to the shop for repair, developing/maintaining relationships with territory sales reps to identify sales opportunities, and maintaining safety as a core practice. Essential skills include 2+ years of experience repairing powered industrial equipment (forklift trucks and related products across LP Gas, diesel, and electric variants), strong customer communication, time management, basic computer proficiency, and possession of necessary tools. A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and certification to operate material handling equipment are required; willingness to work overtime and on-call/emergency hours is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience repairing forklift trucks and/or other material handling equipment
- Must be certified to operate material handling equipment
- Must own tools necessary to perform repairs per tool list
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Must maintain excellent rapport with customers
- Must stay current with technical knowledge on products
- Must ensure safety in all activities
- Willing to work overtime including off-hours emergency calls
- Strong customer orientation and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to complete paperwork daily
- Experience with LP gas, diesel, and electric trucks
