Job Summary
Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and dock plates while regrouping shipments as needed. Record exceptions in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims and manage paperwork such as delivery receipts, bills of lading, and trailer manifests. Verify accuracy of hazardous material shipments and special loading instructions. Work various shifts during the week to accommodate business needs, maintaining dependability and meeting reliability standards. Full-time AM position with hourly pay ranging from $22.10 to $28.24. Prior forklift experience and LTL operation background are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Simple arithmetic, weight and/or measuring
- Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing and verbal)
Desired Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent
- Previous warehouse or like experience
- Forklift experience
- Experience using tools, machines, and special equipment: hand truck, four-wheel dock cart, pallet jack, barrel truck, dock plates, load locks and/or rope
- Experience in an LTL operation
