Job Summary
Operate stand-up forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods within a plant, office, or warehouse. Maintain records and adhere to clearly defined SOPs, quality guidelines, and scientific methods while working under general to limited supervision. Requires high school diploma, zero to one year of warehouse experience, and ability to lift over 50 lbs. The role involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures without air conditioning or heating, and moderate to loud noise levels. This 12-month contract position is for an entry-level operator in Covington, GA, with a pay range of $16-$20/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating stand up forklift
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Zero (0) to one (1) year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training
- Obtains and/or maintains appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed
- Has basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production)
- Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand
- Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend documents written in English and perform basic math calculations
- Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment
- General computer skills
- Must be able to lift and/or move over 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot in summer with no AC, cold in winter with limited heating)
- Must be able to work in a moderate to loud noise level environment
- Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work in high, precarious places occasionally
- Must be able to handle exposure to fumes/airborne particles
- Must be able to perform walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, climbing, lifting, crouching, reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, talking, hearing, twisting, and repetitive motion of wrists, hands or fingers
