Job Summary
Operate a standup counterbalance forklift efficiently and safely under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, coordinating with truck drivers to load and unload products for shipment or storage. Inspect trailers for hazards, observe surroundings to avoid collisions, and charge batteries while ensuring safety devices function properly. Load and unload trailers by counting cases, verifying order numbers, and preparing product for tempering services. Assist Shipping/Receiving Workers in picking cases and maintaining a clean, organized warehouse. Use radio frequency equipment and computer software to coordinate shipments and check loads. Complete required forklift training and adhere to all safety procedures, federal, state, and company policies. Work in a fast-paced indoor environment with emphasis on food quality, sanitation, and safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or equivalent experience
- Previous forklift experience
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Able to communicate effectively and efficiently using both verbal and written skills
- Able to read, interpret and review instructions for preparation of materials
- Able to work cooperatively with others in a team environment
- Understand basic mathematics
- Possess basic computer skills
- Able to utilize coordination while operating a forklift
- Possess control precision in maneuvering forklift
- Able to understand the nature of processing warehouse orders
- Able to adapt to different work requirements
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on efficiency and safety
- Able to focus on attention to detail when loading or unloading customer orders, products or other materials
- Must be available for 2nd and 3rd shift
- Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing less than 50 lbs may be required as needed
