Job Summary
Operate a forklift to lift, move, and position loads of steel within the production facility. Responsibilities include regulating forklift speed and direction for safe movement, using chains/banding/strapping as required, maintaining a clean workspace, inspecting the forklift and reporting defects, and adhering to safety and operational procedures. Competencies include problem resolution, teamwork, communication, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality. Education/experience requirement: High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination; 1–3 months related experience or training. Physical demands include frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds; work near moving mechanical parts with exposure to extreme temperatures and noise.
