Job Summary
Forklift Operator safely operates industrial trucks to load, unload, stack, and transport pallets and parts within the facility. Responsibilities include performing daily pre-operation inspections, reading packaging and shipping documents, following inventory-control instructions, moving materials using pallets and crates, stacking loads in designated storage bays, and ensuring PPE and safety guidelines are followed; role entails basic math, reading comprehension, and communication, with no supervisory duties. Travel may be required periodically depending on position requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (Preferred)
- Prior forklift experience
- Prior automotive experience
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Basic computer skills
- Basic messages are communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records
- Problems encountered are simple, repetitive, and generally solved by clear directions or procedures
- Follows standard procedures with no decision-making involved
- Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager
- Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager
