Job Summary
Forklift Operator at a recycling facility responsible for operating forklifts/loaders to move materials, performing daily pre/post-trip inspections, documenting inspections and data, and maintaining safe work areas. Must follow OSHA/safety guidelines, communicate with facility personnel about material conditions, assist in production tasks (dumping cages, moving containers, loading/bales), monitor equipment, and report accidents or incidents within required timeframes. Requires ability to read/write simple notes, communicate effectively, and lift up to 50 pounds; organization and attention to safety are emphasized, with standard reporting to Shift Supervisor/Facility Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, brief correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds
