Job Summary
Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles, stack them in assigned places, and move stock to pallets or crates for storage or shipment. Safely operate all material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet movers while weighing pallets and scrap when applicable. Shrink-wrap finished products, set up floor warehouse pickup, and maintain an orderly, organized warehouse. Develop, revise, and review documentation for all materials-related activities. Adhere to federal, state regulations, and company policies. Perform other duties as requested. Maintain a rotating shift schedule and work rotating shifts; overtime may be required in emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid fork-lifting certificate
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Proficiency in operating technical machinery and RF scanners
- Good physical condition
- Mathematical aptitude
- Good organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication
- Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen
- Able to complete physically demanding work
- Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs and inspect and maintain machinery
- Able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, stoop, push, pull, stand, and carry as needed to inspect, service, and operate machinery, equipment, and gauges
- Must work rotating shift schedule; may need to work overtime in emergencies
- Must be able to maintain attention for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must have good hand/eye coordination
- Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness
- Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day
