Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift

Job Summary
Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transfer materials between warehouses, production lines, and packaging areas while moving shuttles and picking orders. Remove used items like pallets and trash bins from work zones, scan materials via barcode tags, and complete required paperwork including tally sheets, slot changes, and daily checklists. Assist production operators by removing plastic and straps from pallets, perform routine maintenance such as filling propane tanks, and maintain a clean work area by sweeping floors and wiping equipment. This second-shift role requires lifting 80 pounds, standing and walking extensively, and passing written and driving tests.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years' prior forklift experience
- Must be able to successfully use basic math and writing skills necessary to accurately fill out required paperwork
- Should have working knowledge of warehouse operations or be trainable
- Must be capable of operating a lift truck in a safe and efficient manner by abiding by plant and company rules for shipping and warehousing
- Must be able to pass forklift training period through written and driving tests as well as on-the-job work efforts
- Demonstrated observation skills
- Must be able to drive a standard forklift with both hands and both feet
- Must have stamina and be able to move quickly
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds (pallets when necessary)
- Must be safety conscious
