Job Summary
Read work orders to ascertain materials or containers for movement and operate a lift truck safely with a valid license. Move materials from storage to designated areas, stack finished product neatly, and ensure proper pallet placement and housekeeping. Inspect truck trailers for damage or contamination before loading, pull product, and load trailers per shipping requirements. Complete shipping and receiving documentation, segregate non-conforming product, and empty trash cans and dumpsters daily. Maintain forklift PM and battery change logs, follow OSHA and safety procedures, and comply with Hazard Materials Regulations. Relieve personnel for breaks and cover opposite-shift vacations as needed. Perform other related duties assigned by the warehouse lead.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Lift truck license
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence and convey instructions or information
- Ability to add and subtract numbers and to multiply and divide fractions
- Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and size
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move more than 35 pounds
