Forklift Operator - 1st Shift

Job Summary
Operate industrial vehicles and equipment to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse, including stacking unitized materials in storage racks and delivering requisitioned items to assembly areas. Perform daily pre-start checks on the forklift, record transactions via barcode scanning, and assist with pallet restacking as needed. Ensure compliance with safety policies while moving products manually and transporting trash to designated locations. This 1st shift role requires a certified forklift operator with basic English proficiency and mathematical skills to manage inventory and follow first-in-first-out storage systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one year related experience
- Certified in the operation of a forklift
- ability to pass a written certification test
- demonstrate skillful use of forklift
- ability to operate a manual / powered pallet jack
- ability to lift product
- ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend basic English
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- ability to write simple reports and correspondence
- ability to communicate effectively to co-workers and supervisors
- good listening and comprehension
- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
- ability to apply and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- ability to operate a lift truck safely on the floor and in our racking system
- ability to operate a barcode reader
- ability to record all transactions in writing, as necessary
- ability to read and interpret a material request form
- ability to issue appropriate product to the assembly lines
- ability to make decisions on proper storage of product in warehouse
- ability to follow a first-in-first-out system of storing product
- ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- ability to adjust focus
