Job Summary
Complete all assigned service jobs for forklift trucks, LP gas, diesel, and electric equipment in the Rockford area. Collaborate with the Lead Field Mechanic on technical challenges and submit daily paperwork including timecards and customer-signed maintenance reports. Maintain open communication with dispatchers to update job status and availability. Identify jobs requiring shop repair based on complexity or safety concerns. Develop relationships with territory sales representatives regarding potential sales opportunities. Operate material handling equipment while adhering to all safety rules and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as either a diesel mechanic/technician, heavy duty mechanic, or forklift mechanic/technician
- Masterful skills in repairing powered industrial equipment
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience fixing forklift trucks and other products we represent, including LP Gas, diesel, and electric trucks
- Successful completion of required training courses
- Certification to operate material handling equipment
- Ownership of tools necessary for repairs, as per our recommended tool list
