Job Summary
The Forklift Mechanic maintains and repairs the company’s forklift fleet, conducts routine maintenance, and ensures safe operation. Responsibilities include inspecting forklifts, performing repairs on gas- and propane-powered units, ensuring electric batteries are charged, replacing propane tanks, maintaining repair logs, and keeping equipment available through preventive maintenance. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, organization, time management, and adherence to safety procedures per ISI/OSHA standards. Proficiency with basic computer tasks is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree required
- completion of forklift mechanic’s training course required
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience as a forklift mechanic
- State inspection license preferred
- Must have your own tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills necessary
