Forklift Material Handler

Job Summary
Operate and maintain sit-down or stand-up forklifts (gas or electric) to safely unload trucks per the Open Dock schedule, inspect and tag incoming pallets, and deliver components to staging areas. Record movements on staging paperwork and inventory transfer sheets for warehouse-to-production transfers or returns, ensuring proper IKI labeling and certified counts. Manage dunnage return with correct banding and separation, remove scrap cans via dumper attachments, and move finished goods to the designated warehouse. Communicate shortages or issues to the Warehouse Manager and maintain good housekeeping while adhering to safety policies. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm with flexibility for overtime and shift coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Lifting items between 25 and 50 pounds
- 2-4 years in a forklift material handling position
- Ability to operate at heights up to 50 feet
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Team Player with strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
- Ability to manage competing demands
- Ability to change approach or method to best fit the situation
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Dedication to completing the daily tasks required, both directed and implied
- Ability to move materials within the warehouse both physically and systematically
- Sense of urgency
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism
- Proven ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with both internal partners and external clients
- Knowledge of safety practices, OSHA requirements and 5S best practices
- Understanding of production work orders/ internal/external inventory transfers in high volume warehouse environment
- Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts
